Travis Portwood is the Chief Investment Officer and Principal at Allen Capital Group. He leads the firm’s investment strategy, security selection, and portfolio construction. Travis joined Allen Capital Group in 2018 after working as a Senior Wealth Advisor at a national advisory firm. With over 25 years of experience, he helps foundations, endowments, corporations, families, and individuals develop disciplined, personalized wealth strategies that fit their goals.

Travis is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He earned his degree in Business Finance from Wayne State College. He is also a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Nebraska, and the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska.

Outside the office, Travis enjoys spending time with family. He and his wife, Cindy, live in Bennington, NE, and stay busy keeping up with their daughters, Morgan and Kennedy—whether that means cheering from the stands at basketball and track meets or planning their next family trip. Travis is a lifelong Notre Dame football fan and, thanks to Morgan’s time at the University of Kansas, an enthusiastic Jayhawk basketball supporter as well. When he’s not traveling or at a game, he can usually be found reading or in his workshop, enjoying his favorite hobby: woodworking.
